  do you think there will come a time, where no one will believe in god or even talk about him?.

  children at school aren't taught religion any more around here since years.. so, how long do you think it will take before no one talks about god anymore?

  I'm very pleased my tax dollars aren't used to terrorize and haunt the mind of children with Christian Horror Tales of the mnass-murderer Joe Hovah or any other version of said Cosmic Tyrant.
  
  However, recent advances in neurology have demonstrated that 'spiritual experiences' are hard wired into the human brain. So, religion in one form or another is here to stay unless genetically engineered out. Have you ever compared the crime rate for countries that are predominantly atheist/agnostic with those that are primarily Theist (such as USA)? The atheist countries have a much lower crime rate.   Is your congregation on medication?

  over half my cong.

  members have mental issues and are taking prozac or some other medication for depression or other mental problems.many are going or have gone to therapists... anyone have a similar situation?

  When I was disfellowshippied 33 YEARS AGO I sought psychological help. The counselor I spoke with kindly showed me statistics on the number of Jehovah's Witnesses who were in mental institutions. This was before the mental institutions were summarily emptied by the Feds. Of those 'inside' professing a religion, Joe Hovah's Witlesses were numero uno on the list. A massively impressive number given the fact that JW's are such a tiny slice of the American pie, especialy back then.
  
  Call me crazy, but I suspect it has something to do with the whole salvation by works mentality, trying to placate an angry mercurial despot in the sky, thinking any moment his rage is going to bring (BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP) and some (BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP) upon you!

  Embarassing situation

  the other day, my mom foun pictures of me getting a lapdance.

  i was very embarassed when i saw it, but now she wants to read the bible to me so i won't go to strip clubs anymore.

  The booklet form of Kissing Hank's Ass would be a perfect hand-out for JayDubs and Mormons, if only they would read it!
  
  When I was a Witness I used to read anti-watchtower materials. I figured if we "have the Truth" as we claimed, it could stand up to the most minute scrutiny. Hahahahaha.
  
  One of the elders of the congregation I was attached to when I was fifteen found me reading a little anti-watchtower booklet and practically had a stroke right on the spot. So I became secretive.

  i was thinking about the kingdom songs we sang as jw's and was wondering about you posters out there that are ex-jw's or still jw's what was you all time favorite "kingdom song" or what was you all time horrible song that we sang from both songbooks (1966 songbook or the later songbook made in 1984 sing praises to jehovah.

  my favorite song was song #119 in the 1966 songbook "keep your eyes on the prize".

  i like this song because it made me feel that armaggeddon was coming fast and the "new system" would be here to give me the prize.
